Meet Our Team

Dr. Rorke, the founder of our clinic, began working as a veterinarian in the Peterborough area in 1996 after a year or so in Manhattan, where she practiced in a small animal hospital on the Upper West Side. She is a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. She thoroughly enjoys the clients and patients she meets in our clinic (established in 1996) and through our mobile service (established in 1996), which offers veterinary care to patients in their homes locally and sometimes an hour and more away from our base hospital. She shares her home with a spoiled border collie, Tucker Too, adopted several years ago from the PHS.

From the time Keri was a child, she knew she was different from most little
girls her age. Instead of wanting to skip or play dolls, she would be found
catering to the local strays or playing ball with a neighbor’s dog. Her love
of animals shines through at work, too. From the smallest kitten to the
largest dog, Keri always has time for a scratch on the chin, a pat on the
head and a kind word. Her life at home is just as busy. Between spending
time with her 24 year old son Darcy , needle felting, yoga and meditation,
she still finds time to pamper and take care of her tortoiseshell Kali-Kat
and her two birds Nova-Lee the conure and Mr Bo Janglez the cockatiel.
Keri has a particular interest in healing stones and crystals, she creates
her own essential oils and is currently working on completing her Reiki
Master degree.

Lindsay was very happy to join our team as a Practice Supervisor in 2004. She graduated with Honours from Sheridan College Animal Care Program in 1999. Her life dedicated to helping animals began as a child, volunteering and working at animal shelters for several years. Lindsay can either be found assisting our doctors in the clinic or with our mobile unit, and hers is usually the face you see when you come to pick up your animal after surgery. She is owned by her cat “Mimi” (formerly the Ptbo Humane Society mascot) who just would not live without Lindsay when she left her job with them to join us.

Lorraine has rescued and cared for animals her whole life. Apart from bringing abandoned or injured pets and wildlife home, her Saturday job was at a local hospital for birds of prey and a couple times a week she could be found helping out at the local veterinary clinic.

She qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in the UK in 1988. After working in small animal practice for some years, she went on to work as a Veterinary Nurse at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth, Devon for almost 20 more. In January 2005 Lorraine moved to Canada with her husband, their two children plus two dogs and cats.

The current furry family members are Cooper (a 14 year old feline), Daisie (a 3 year old mixed breed) and the most recent family member Poppy (approximately 2 year old rescued Covid puppy).

Apart from family and pets, Lorraine’s favourite pastimes include reading (especially crime fiction and historical mysteries), table top games and baking.

Lorraine enjoys interacting with patients and owners alike, you will see Lorraine in clinic as well as mobile home visits.

Krista has been with us since 2009 and is a familiar and comforting face to many of you and your fur families! You will see her when your pets come in for blood work, nail trims, grooming and routine appointments. Krista graduated as an Registered Veterinary Technician from Algonquin College in 2008. She has been around animals all her life, everything from pocket pets to large farm animals. She currently shares her life with her two cats Gigi a 13 year old Persian and Gus a 13 year old Himalayan/Ragdoll.  She looks forward to seeing you all and working with your animals!
