Dr. Rorke, the founder of our clinic, began working as a veterinarian in the Peterborough area in 1996 after a year or so in Manhattan, where she practiced in a small animal hospital on the Upper West Side. She is a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. She thoroughly enjoys the clients and patients she meets in our clinic and through our mobile service, which offers veterinary care to patients in their homes locally and sometimes an hour and more away from our base hospital. She shares her home with her 16-year-old cat Mel, a tabby and white DSH she brought home from a local animal shelter (he’s hiding on the home page). His favourite things are catnip, food, sleep and yodeling. Ollie, an eight-year-old short-haired tabby, is the baby of the group and must be fed first. The overseer of the group is Tucker, a twelve-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd cross. He endlessly enjoys the fruitless pursuit of the resident groundhogs, squirrels and avian wildlife, to say nothing of the notorious plastic carrot prey. He lives to play!
